I have walls again!
Not only that I have a tiny loft studio in our new tiny condo.
So I have been painting like I did in “days of old’ when I painted all the time.
Twenty paintings in 4 months and it feels awesome.
Getting started again into that kind of regimen was a bumpy ride. Truth is it still is but because it is all part of the process and part of learning it is just so darn good.
As luck would have it I “found” an artist named Corre Alice when I was haunting Pinterest boards collecting inspiration. Lo and behold she had just returned to neighbouring Cumberland after time living on Salt Spring. I knew her work from winters spent in Victoria and I was smitten with her use if colour and interesting shapes and composition.
Then the best thing happened, Corre offered a workshop in her new studio and I leapt at the chance to sign up. It was a spectacular experience seeing Corre paint and hearing her open and fresh approach to the canvas.
These 2 pieces were started at that workshop and now greet guests at the front door with a cheery hello.
